Danceworx Academy & Yoga Studio: Inspiring Movement

Welcome to Danceworx Academy & Yoga Studio, family owned and operated by the Peacock family who have danced together at the former Discovery School of Dance (DSD) for 15 years under the direction of Dr. Madame (Lynn Sundermier).

Julie (Owner/Manager) danced in high school and college (drill team, cheer, modern/jazz/tap, ballroom, and cultural dance) before beginning ballet classes at DSD as a 45-year old mother. Julie danced with DSD for more than 10 years. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, and full-time speech-language pathologist working in special education with an emphasis in autism spectrum disorders. Opening a dance studio has always been a childhood dream!

Miss Sierra (Owner/Instructor) began dancing at age 13 and danced through high school at DSD (ballet, pointe, Irish soft/hard shoe, and hip-hop/jazz/lyrical) and college (contemporary ballet, modern, tap, cultural, and social dance). She holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Dance Pedagogy from Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYU-I) and is certified in Yoga.

Miss Lizzy (Asst. Instructor) began dancing at DSD at age 3 (ballet, pointe, Irish soft/hard shoe, and hip-hop/jazz/lyrical) and has danced continuously ever since! She recently completed her freshman year dancing at Western Oregon University (WOU) where she received the Laurel Dance Scholarship and danced as a student aspirant with the Rainbow Dance Company. Lizzy is currently a dance major at BYU-Idaho with an emphasis in Dance Choreography and Performance.

We feel blessed to have this opportunity to open a dance studio together and feel it is an honor to continue the tradition of dancing in the original DSD dance building. Thank you, Dr. Madame and Paul!
