At Danceworx Academy, we believe in fostering your child’s exploration of personal expression through supportive learning environments dedicated to enhancing your child’s creative movement experiences. Each class is designed to build upon important life skills, including self-respect and prosocial skills. Dance promotes bodily coordination, balance, and mental strength, guiding their creative self expression and artistry through fun dance technique.

Our History

Danceworx Academy & Yoga Studio opened its doors for the first time in the fall of 2024, but it originated from the legacy of Discovery School of Dance. Official business planning began spring of 2024, although it has been a dream of the Peacock family many years prior. Our studio is women-owned and family-owned and operated by the Peacock family who have danced together at the former Discovery School of Dance (DSD) for 15 years under the direction of Dr. Madame (Lynn Sundermier). We feel blessed to have this opportunity to open a dance studio together and feel it is an honor to continue the tradition of dancing in the original DSD dance building.

Danceworx Academy is a family whose members are passionate about dance and self-expression. Every teacher is a role model and works hard to provide only the best movement education for our dancers. We believe in fostering your child’s exploration of personal expression through a supportive learning environment dedicated to enhancing your child’s creative and movement experiences. Each class is designed to build upon important life skills, including self-respect prosocial skills, bodily coordination, balance, stamina, and mental strength.
